The Book of Mormon “puts forth the doctrines of the gospel, outlines the plan of salvation, and tells men what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come.”[1]

Necessary for salvation

These doctrines must be believed or one cannot be saved, though they may or may not be individually sufficient to save.

Sufficient for salvation

These doctrines are sufficient to save but, strictly speaking, may or may not be necessary for salvation.
